Sarah Klaassen

Veterinary Nurse, Receptionist - Cert IV (Veterinary Nursing)

You will see Sarah’s face behind the reception desk at CEH, as well as nursing in the hospital. She joined the team in August 2009, from Milton on the South Coast. Sarah holds her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and Certificate III in Equine Nursing.

Sarah has extensive experience as an eventing groom in the UK, having worked for event riders Matt Ryan, and Clayton & Lucinda Fredericks. She has groomed at prestigious 3 day events including Badminton & Burghley.

Since returning to Australia, Sarah’s focus has turned to polocrosse. She is a dedicated player for the Milton-Ulladulla Polocrosse Club and spends a lot of hours with her Australian Stock Horse mare, Ophir Hope.

Kelly Head

Veterinary Nurse

Kelly and her faithful red cattle dog Gem have moved to Canberra after many years working on thoroughbred studs. She has worked around Australia and overseas as a yearling supervisor, broodmare foreman and stud vet nurse. Kelly has varied experience in the equine world, from dressage and eventing to training movie horses. Her love of harness horses has seen her work with hackneys at Sydney Royal and groom on Australian champion combined driving teams. Kelly is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that come with working at CEH and is happy to chat to you about all areas of equine!

Joanna Wortley

Veterinary Nurse - Cert IV (Veterinary Nursing)

Joey has loved animals all her life and has always wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse.

She grew up in the Blue Mountains and moved to Canberra to work at CEH. She has previously completed a course in Animal Studies at Richmond TAFE and a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Joey started working at the Canberra Equine Hospital in August 2010. She loves to go horse riding in her spare time and has a special interest in stock work and endurance riding.

Jasmin Wren

Veterinary Nurse

Jasmin grew up on the Far South Coast in Bermagui growing up in a horse and pet filled family, were she finished her HSC and moved to Canberra to work within the equine nursing team.

Jasmin is currently completing her Animal Studies course at Goulburn TAFE and will be continuing to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing next year.

In her free time she enjoys riding her horse Barney.
